Elbert Wayne Brown, 81, of Kinston passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012. Mr. Brown was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and a retired pilot with the N.C. Forestry Service. He was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon; enjoyed playing guitar and singing to his family and tinkering with model airplanes. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Williams Brown; children, Debra Brown Glisson and husband Jim and Roderick Wayne Brown and wife June all of Goldsboro, and Cynthia Brown Howard of Kinston; grandchildren, Brian Glisson, Amanda Grantham and husband Jared, Dyllan Brown, Logan Brown, and Landon Brown; great-grandchild, Kylee Grantham; and beloved dog, Mac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Doctor Wanda Neely officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held on Sunday.
