Annie Pearl (Thompson) Jones

Annie Pearl Jones, 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at her home in LaGrange.

Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Freedom Fellowship Church, Kinston, NC, burial to follow at Westview Cemetery with Pastors Steve Dixon, Benny Gutierrez and Justin Barnett officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Earl Jones Sr., brother Monroe Thompson and parents James Henry and Adell Quinn Thompson.

Annie Pearl is survived by her daughters Lisa Jones Haynes, Amanda Jones Brinkley and husband Bobby, Debbie Jones Grant and husband Randy; sons Alton “Dinky” Jones, David Jones and wife Vickie, Darrin Jones and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Kory Haynes and wife Gabby, Heather Jones Rouse and husband Justin, Brittany Grant Stallings and husband JW, Allen Grant and wife Samantha, Kasi Jones, Erinn Jones, Austin Jones, Kolby Carrillo, Jantzen Jones, Jared Puckett, Brett Brinkley and Quinn Brinkley; great-grandchildren Kamden Rouse, Kantley Jones, Layla Haynes, Bexley Stallings, Jaydon Stallings, Connor Grant, Anna Grant, Natalie Grant, Emma Grant, Laken Grant; sister Hattie Smith and special caregiver Kris Roy. 

Along with the names listed above, Annie Pearl was known by many many more as Mema. She loved and cherished anyone she came in contact with and snagged your heart the moment you met her. Her laughter and stories would draw you in, with a touch of bossiness that had her spoiled even until her last moments. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, playing scrabble, singing and rocking babies. Above all else, she loved her family and she loved them big with all her heart.
