Betty Gray (Spence) Aldridge

Betty Gray Aldridge, 81, of Kinston, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at UNC Lenoir Healthcare.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Kornegay officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arly Raymond Spence and Helen Cauley Spence; sister, Della Ann Livingston; sons, Virgil and Sonny Davenport; great-grandson, Taylor Thompson.

Betty loved spending time with her family and friends. She would always lend a helping hand and never met a stranger.

Survivors include her husband; Jimmy Aldridge of the home; daughters, Rebecca Davenport of Deep Run, Helen Yvonne Raines and husband Michael of Newport; son, Bobby “Buddy” Davenport and Sharon of Deep Run; grandchildren, Aleatha Carter Thrower and husband Jeff, Benjamin Carl Carter and Christina, Rebecca Sharon Carter Tyndall and husband David, Derek Michael Raines and April, Noel Raines Wordsworth and husband Jason; great-grandchildren, Chandler Carter, Maheylah Colie, Hannah Love Thrower, Campbell Gray Wordsworth; step great-grandchildren, Landon Tyndall, Gracie Tyndall; uncle, Rodney Spence and Ann; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special family and friends.
