Chelia Virginia (Gurganus) Leary

Chelia Virginia Gurganus Leary, 85, of Kinston, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 15, 2018 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd David Leary Sr.; son Floyd David, Jr.; brothers Raymond, Johnny and Harvey Gurganus; sisters Lou Jane White and Ada Taylor.

Virginia was a long-time member of West Road Pentecostal Holiness Church and taught Sunday school for many years.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Harrison and husband Christopher of Kinston; grandchildren Chris Jr., Michael, Craig Harrison and fiancé Bridget Raper from Kinston; sister Letha Taylor and special niece Annis O’Quinn of Kinston.

Funeral Service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Ham officiating. Visitation will be held following the service. Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Westview Cemetery.
