Claude Davis, Jr., 82, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at UNC Lenoir Healthcare.

Mr. Davis served his country in the US Navy and retired 21 years of service. Upon retirement from the Navy he worked for the NC State DOT retiring after 15 years. He was a member of Gospel Outreach Independent Free Will Baptist Church in Cove City. He will be greatly missed by his children. We love you daddy.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Davis; parents, Myrtle and William Claude Davis and ten brothers and sisters.

Claude is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Davis Mejia and husband Andrew of Hubert; sons, Albert Ray Davis of Dover, William A. “Willie” Davis and wife Darlene of Dover, Edward Wayne Davis of Dover; grandchildren, Terry, Ashia, Kayla, Tyler, Dallas, Chris and seven great grandchildren; special dog Mingo II.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Gospel Outreach Independent Free Will Baptist Church, Cove City NC. Visitation will be other times at the home of Willie and Darlene Davis, 13120 Hwy 55 W., Dover, NC 28526. Funeral services to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor John Clark officiating. Burial will be held at Gospel Outreach Independent Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 5570 Hwy 55 W., Cove City, NC 28523 immediately following services with Military Honors.
