Della (Smith) Rouse

Della Smith Rouse, 88, of Kinston passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Born in Philadelphia Penn., September 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Ruby Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Leslie Earl Rouse, Sr. and brothers John Smith and Russell Smith. Mrs. Rouse was a member of First Baptist Church in Grifton and had retired from more than 50 years of nursing.

She is survived by her daughter Jane Elizabeth Rouse of Raleigh, son Les Rouse and wife Denise of Kinston, grandchildren Christopher Rouse and wife Vicki, Brandi Hardison and husband Colby and Josh Earl Rouse and girlfriend Shannon Donnelly, great-grandsons Cayden, Charlie and Archer Rouse, sister Diane Sutton and husband Charles, brother William A. Smith and wife Caroline, sisters-in-law Faye Hall Smith and Josette Smith, special friends Evelyn Phillips, Frances Davis and Linda Sanderson, many nieces and nephews whom she was quite fond of and a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Grifton with Rev. Jason Currie officiating Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm. 6776 Patrick Street, Grifton NC 28530. Following the service, a reception/visitation will be held in the fellowship hall. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Grifton City Cemetery.
