Dixie Jean (Boone) Thomas

Dixie Jean Thomas, 74, of Kinston  passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at UNC Lenoir Healthcare with her family by her side.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Daniel Boone and Fannie Louise Jernigan Boone.

Dixie was an active member of Tanglewood Church of God, Kinston, NC.

Dixie, along with her husband Royce, was owner of Surf and Turf Restaurant here in Kinston.  She retired from Caswell Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She loved the beach, fishing and spending time with family and friends.  She was compassionate, caring and a dedicated christian.  She was loved by all and will be truly missed by many.

Survivors include her husband Royce Thomas, daughter Kim Rademacher and husband Jeff of New Bern; son Steve Thomas and wife Annette of Birmingham, AL; granddaughters Holly Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Emily Rademacher; grandson Lucas  Rademacher; great granddaughter Dixieanna Thomas; sisters, Virginia Strickland, Carol Kennedy, Jane Lambert and husband Bobby and brother Jimmy Boone and wife Jill.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm with funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm at Tanglewood Church of God with Pastor Allen Stocks officiating.  Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC.
