Doris Geraldine (Mills) Gooding

Doris “Aunt Doris” Geraldine Mills Gooding, 93, of Kinston passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 16, 2018 at First Baptist Church.  Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Isaac Little; second husband Marvin A. Gooding; parents David and Missouria Mills; sisters Elizabeth M. Chamberlain, Agnes M. Little and Louise M. Stone and brother James D. Mills.

Doris was a member of Kinston First Baptist Church, attended Laura McDaniel Sunday School Class, taught pre-school Sunday School and sang with the Joy Singers. She was also a member of the Lions Club Auxillary and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Doris retired from Kinston Shirt Factory-Hampton Industries.

Survivors include brother Bobby R. Mills and wife Pearl of Bolton, NC; sister-in-law Lorraine Gooding; brother-in-law Robert E. Gooding; several special nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 2600 Rouse Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
