Glenda Locklear Obituary

Glenda “Goodie” Faye Locklear, 71, passed away Thursday August 16, 2018 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. Mrs. Locklear was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Locklear, parents James Coy and Pearline Webb Parker and step father James Morgan.

Mrs. Locklear was a developmental tech at Caswell Center. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and visiting with family and friends including her church family at Sandy Plain Original Free Will Baptist Church in Pink Hill.

Her surviving family includes her daughters Sonya Locklear Howell, Sheila Renee Locklear, special “adopted” daughter Terry Ruth Leatherwood and husband Jerry and her favorite canine daughter Abbey; grandchildren Cami and Jacob Howell; sister Gray Cain and beloved brother-in-law Billy; niece Teresa Hicks and husband Petie; nephew Darryl Cain and wife Angie; beloved foster children Deanna Grady, Bennie Grady and Kevin Grady; and many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, funeral service at 1:00 PM at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Reverends David Smith, Matthew Miller and Jimmy Mercer officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
