Joseph Clarence Grady, Jr., 84, of LaGrange, went to his heavenly home July 9, 2018. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Grady, Sr. and Venetia Norris Grady.

Joe was a wonderful husband, daddy, granddaddy and great granddaddy. He was a friend and mentor to everyone he met. Joe was an avid golfer. He had four holes in one during his golfing career. He was a past mason of the Richard Caswell Lodge for over 60 years, a Shriner and a member of the motor patrol. Joe was manager of Commercial Credit for 28 years and a Magistrate of Lenoir & Greene County for 12 years. After his retirement if Joe was not with his family you could find him at Falling Creek Country Club hanging out with the guys.

Joe is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lizzie Grady, daughter, Mary Susan Grady-Alston and husband Reggie, son, David Edward Whitfield and wife Bonnie, grandchildren, Melissa Byrd, Krystal Tyler and husband Russell, David Whitfield, Jr. Ciara Thigpen and Skyler Whitfield, great-grandchildren, Joseph Byrd, Michael Tyler, Olivia Byrd, Kayla Thigpen, Addilyn Whitfield, Jamie Raspberry, Zoey Griffin, Kristen Tyler, Jessica Lindstrom and husband Alex and two more on the way, great great-grandchild, Kenzlee Lindstrom and special pet Tiger.

Celebration of life service will be held at Wheat Swamp Christian Church with Hank Jarman and Allen Ham officiating, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 3:00pm with visitation to follow and other times at the home, 3821 Lindsey Lane, LaGrange NC 28551.
