Kenneth Leroy Jackson

Kenneth L. Jackson, 82, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2018 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior.  Ken was born in Duplin county on August 1, 1935 to Albert and Lucinda Jackson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Lee Jackson; his sisters Alene Casey, Evelyn Jackson, Doris Broadway, Inez Emory and brothers Albert “Jack” and Gene Jackson. Together with his wife Janet, they successfully owned and operated H & R Block in Kinston for 36 years. Ken’s passion was living his life for Jesus and Carolina basketball.  His legacy of living a life in constant faith and demonstrating God’s love for his family and friends will continue in all who knew and loved him.  He is survived by his sister Geraldine Emory and a brother Don Jackson; his daughter Evelyn Humphries and husband Bob of Raphine, Va. and a son, Cecil Jackson and wife Tracie of Greenville, NC.  He was a loving grandfather to John-Paul, Jenna, Luke Humphries, Hillary and Randy Ridenour, Sarah and Emilee Jackson. He was also blessed with a great-grandson, Eli Acord. In addition, he is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 4th at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, 1608 West Vernon Avenue, Kinston, NC with visitation immediately following the service. There will be a family graveside service on Monday, March 5th
