Linda (Langston) Hill

Linda Langston Hill of Deep Run, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 in Greenville at Vidant Hospital’s Cancer Center on the evening of December 4th.  Linda was born August 13, 1943, to Catherine and Zeb Vance Langston of Kinston.  Linda married William Franklin Hill, better known as Fuzzy, of Kinston in 1969. They share three beloved children, Wendi Kaye, Kathy Jo, and Will Hill. Linda retired at Smith Hearing Care amd went on to serve as church secretary at Freedom Fellowship.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Zeb Vance Langston, in-laws, Frank and Francis Hill, brothers, Edward Langston and Gary Langston and son-in-law, Prentice “Jay” Tyndall.  

Linda will be greatly missed by her husband of 49 years, Fuzzy, and their children and spouses; Wendi and Walter Powell of Lucama, Kathy and Allen Foster of Kinston, Will and Angela Hill of Kinston; grandchildren, Jodi and Brentley Cobb of  Durham, Lee and Colleen Powell of Clayton, Jami and Clay Jones of Goldsboro, Ashley and Justin Humphrey of Kinston, Joshua Hill of Princeton, Ian Tyndall of Kinston, Abigail Hill of Grifton, Emerson Mewborn of Kinston, Christina Prater of Charleston S.C., Spencer Foster of Kinston, and Holden Foster of Kinston.  Linda’s passing preceded the arrival of her newest grandson, Prentice Blake Hill, expected in February.  Linda also enjoyed being a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. Linda was blessed with a close and enduring friendship with her siblings and their spouses.  Linda also leaves behind her sister Brenda, her brother-in-law Larry Powell, and two sisters-in-law Myrtle Langston of Kinston, and Lorene Langston of Newport, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved dog Danny Dee.  She loved her church family at Freedom Fellowship exceedingly.  Those who knew her witnessed a life marked with joyful celebrations of faith and family. The most notable aspect being her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior.  

Funeral service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 6:30pm with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating with visitation to follow the service at Freedom Fellowship Church, 469 Joe Nunn Rd, Kinston, NC 28504. Graveside service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00am at Westview Cemetery. The family will also be receiving friends other times at the home of her daughter, Kathy Foster at 199 Briary Run Road, Kinston.
