Mary Helen Smith Holland, 83, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro surrounded by her family. Ms Mary was a homemaker until 1975 when she founded Farmer-N-Dell Daycare.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Robert B. Holland, Sr.; parents George Sr. and Mary Smith; step mother Lucy I. Smith; sisters Mabel Hill and Elsie Rouse; brothers Dee Barwick Smith and Ray Harold Smith.
Mary Helen is survived by her daughters Georgia H. Taylor and husband Ronnie and Susie H. Evans and husband Hal; son Robbie Holland and wife Monique; sisters Thelma Barrow, Maezell Cauley and husband David; step sister Marilyn Moore; brothers Willie Smith, Edward Smith and wife Mary Etta, George Smith, Jr. and wife Gail, John Smith and wife Maxine; grandchildren Ron Taylor and wife Leslie, Larry Taylor and wife Kelly, Tracey Woodard and husband Jim, Samantha Holland, Trey Holland and wife Amanda; nine great grandchildren; special dog Layla; and thousands of daycare children and families.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with her brother-in-law Pastor David Cauley and Pastor Allen Ham officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and other times at The Holland Home, Airport Road in Kinston. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
