Mildred Lane Obituary

Mildred Civils Lane, 84 of Kinston passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

Mildred was a member of Lane’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She graduated from Fort Barnwell High School and later from Cosmetology School. For most of her life she was a loving mother, raising her children and keeping their home in order. She later went to work at Caswell Development Center where she retired.

She is survived by her daughter Sarah Bass of Kinston; sons Sammy Lane and wife Joyce of Dover, Cullen Lane and wife Rhonda of Washington; sister Ruth McCoy Potter and husband Ralph of Cove City; grandchildren Tracey Lane, Christopher Lane, Josh Lane, Caleb Lane, Justin Bass and Blake Beddard; great-granddaughters Andersyn Lane, Liza Lane, Emma Lane; and a special friend Miss Mattie.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Guy Civils and Sadie Moore Civils; sister Rachel Smith and brother Cullen Civils.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Lane’s Chapel Church at 12040 NC Hwy 55 West, Dover, NC 28526 with Pastors Tony Hobbs and Caleb Lane officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the Lane’s Chapel Church and at other times at the home of Sammy and Joyce Lane, 10705 NC Hwy 55 West, Dover, NC 28526. Interment will be held at Wintergreen Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery following the visitation.
