Patricia Carter Obituary

Patricia Ann Carter, 72, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Lenoir Assisted Living, Pink Hill. She was preceded in death by her parents Geraldine Cunningham Whitley and William Doyle Whitley, Sr. and grandmother Neta Cunningham.

Pat worked at Smithfield Foods for many years. Even though she did not have any children, she always loved being around children and treated them as her own. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for a friend in need. her passion was for quilting and she was always planning the next quilt and who she was going to give it to.

Survivors include her brothers William Doyle (Bill) Whitley, Jr., Dexter Glenn Whitley and wife Susan; nieces Amy Whitley, Caroline Whitley Murphrey and husband Chris and Alison Whitley Rose and husband Austin; nephews Stephen Doyle Whitley and wife Stephanie, Tyler Matthew Whitley and wife Lindsey; great nephews Cody Whitley, Ridge Hinson, Jacob (Jake) Jones, Bennett William Murphrey and many beloved cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Seth Jones officiating. Visitation will follow. A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery
