Paul R. Stallings, 96, of Trenton passed away Monday, September 3, 2018 at his home. Paul was a WWII veteran who joined the army July 25, 1942. He spent the next three years fighting in Northern France, Rhineland, Normandy, Ardennes and Central Europe and received five bronze stars and a silver star for his courageous duty. After the war, he returned home and farmed until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of New Testament Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Janie Stallings, brothers Bob, William Earl, Melvin and Walter and sisters Hazel, Eva Mae and Elizabeth.
Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years Hazel M. Stallings, daughters Fay Canady (Donald) and Kay Gonzalez (Jack) and son Paul Stallings, Jr., grandchildren Kevin Canady (Amanda), Renato (Marrisa) and Cristina, great-grandchildren Alex, Braylon, Bryson, Renato, Jr., Makayla, Michael and Melani, brother Joe, sisters Christine (Bill) and Doris Ann and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 1:00pm and funeral at 2:00pm with a graveside to follow at Trenton City Cemetery with Pastor Tim Daniel and Pastor Jackie Elwart Officiating.
