Velma Dean (Howard) Davis

Velma Dean Davis, 69, of Pink Hill, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.

Visitation will be Saturday March 10, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, funeral service to follow with Brother Sammy Howard officiating.   Burial to follow funeral service at Harper Family Cemetery, Highway 258 South, Pink Hill, NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay and Ruby Stroud Smith; first husband, Lynwood Ray Howard and brother, Stanley Clay Smith.

Dean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Woodington Ward.  She always had a smile and was always helping others in need. 

Survivors include her husband, William R. Davis of the home; daughter, Amy Howard Whitfield and husband, Roger; son, Lynwood Ray Howard, Jr. and wife, Dale; step-sons, Mike Davis, Kenny Davis and Jay Davis;  grandchildren, Justin Ryan Whitfield, Jeffrey Scott Howard, John Rylan Howard and Amber Elizabeth Brown; great-grandchildren, Cassadee Ryan Whitfield and Caeden Grey Whitfield; sisters, Evelyn Lambert, Sue Rouse and husband Kendall and Peggy Smith and husband, Dempsey.
