Victor B King "Capt. Vic", 89, from Kinston went to the eternal fishing hole, February 11, 2018. Capt. Vic was recovering from surgery at Grantsbrook Rehabilitation in Grantsboro and was looking forward to returning home.
Victor was one of the original owners of King's BBQ on Hwy 70, Kinston, NC and helped feed many folks from all over the country. If he had time, he would surely try to meet you, he never met a stranger. He was an avid fisherman, with a love of our local waters, boating and love for life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina King; daughter, Vickie Ann; parents, William F. King, Sr. and Maude Miller King; brothers, Rodolph King, Wilbur King, William D. King, William F. King, Jr., Lawrence King, Joel "Edmond" King, Clarence King; sisters, Shirley Griffin and Frances Justice.
Surviving family are daughters, Sue King Morgan and husband Richard, Deborah King Ward and husband Carl; grandchildren, Hunter Morgan and wife, Amy, Leighann Morgan, Cain Ward and wife, Jessie, Cole Ward and friend, Sarah, Mason Ward and wife Katy; great-children, Trey Morgan, Kaleb Morgan, Harrison Morgan, Finley Ward; sister-in-law, Lois King; special friend, Mary Tole; also several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Kinston, NC. Funeral Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Westview Cemetery, Kinston, NC with full Masonic rites.
