Virgil Malpass Obituary

Virgil Alton Malpass, 77, of Grifton passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Grifton Police Department. Virgil enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Sadie Carter Malpass.

Virgil is survived by his daughter Melissa Hope Malpass Dickinson and husband Scott, sons Jerry Malpass and wife Phyllis and Terry Malpass and wife Junie, grandchildren Morgan Malpass, Jacob Malpass, Sciandra Teeters and husband Paul, Shea Dickinson, Zoe Dickinson and Bria Dickinson, great-grandchildren Zac Malpass, Amelia Teeters and Marley Teeters, sisters Carol Jarman and husband Charles, Faye Moore, Susie Menendez, Shirley Jones and Jenny Cahoon, brothers Vernon Malpass and wife Janet and Jimmy Moore and wife Brenda and special friend Maggie Bowan.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 28, 2018 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home from 2:00pm-3:00pm with funeral beginning at 3:00pm. Graveside will follow at Evergreen Memorial Estates in Grifton.
