Wayne Stroud Obituary

Wayne M. Stroud, 89, of Kinston passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at UNC Lenoir Healthcare.

He was retired from Caswell Center where he worked as a Developmental Technician. Wayne also served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he earned the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Q. Stroud. Survivors include his daughter Sharon Tyndall and husband Jeff of LaGrange, son Graham Stroud and wife Lori of Kinston, daughter Sandra Sparrow and husband Milton of LaGrange, daughter Debbie Tyndall and husband Dean of Deep Run; grandchildren Julie Manning (Chris), Anthony Stroud (Kerri), Derrick Stroud (Victoria), D.J. Tyndall (Ashlon), Matthew Tyndall, Jeffrey Sparrow and Jennifer Stallings (Shane); great-grandchildren Paityn Manning, Rhett, Ivy and Piper Stroud, Oliver and Lucas Stroud, Noah, Quinn and Millie Tyndall, Michael, Andrew, Shanna and Daniel Stallings.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Brian Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of his son, Wayne G. Stroud.
