Aaron Kenneth "Ken" Cauley

Aaron Kenneth Cauley (Ken), 56, passed away peacefully at UNC Health Lenoir on February 25, 2025.

Ken was born on March 9, 1968. He attended South Lenoir High School where he was a member of the football team and graduated in 1986. He furthered his education at Lenoir Community College and Mount Olive College before he proceeded to follow in his Dad’s footsteps and began his career in plumbing/pipefitting and project management.

Ken loved spending time with his family and friends that became family. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, and uncle. Those close to him affectionately referred to him as Pepaw, UK, and Kenny which would definitely get a reaction. He was a man with a heart of gold that was strong, intelligent, and witty that enjoyed making those around him smile. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and a round of golf with his close friends.  He would never turn down an opponent for a game of chess or a round of darts.  His evenings on the weekends were most enjoyed around a bonfire with friends who he viewed as family. 

Ken is survived by his wife Kerri Cauley, his mother, Peggy Cauley and grandson, Pepaw’s “Lil Boo”. He is also survived by his sister, Tonya (Bo) Wingate, nephew, Donavon Whitworth and bonus nephew, Charlie Wingate, in-laws, Cindy and Bruce Brabon, Kristin and Rob Bolhuis, Chad and Cris Gentis, Brandon Gentis, Nate and Teeva Bolhuis.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Roy Cauley Jr., son, Logen Cauley, paternal grandparents, Rev. Roy and Adelle Cauley, maternal grandparents, Levi and Ethel Davis.  

Services will be held at Howard & Carter Funeral Home in Kinston, NC March 8th, 2025 at 3:00pm with visitation immediately following the service. If you wish to donate in lieu of flowers, you can donate to St. Jude’s or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
