Aiden Smith Harper, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away early Thursday morning. Aiden was loud, boisterous, and unforgettable. Though he never wanted to be the center of attention, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and important. To know Aiden was to love him - he was magnetic, smart, funny, and always quick with a sharp remark or a perfectly timed joke. Aiden loved many things: a good debate, a day spent fishing, time outdoors, his dogs, and being surrounded by friends. But most of all, he loved his wife, Holly. The bond they shared was deep and steady, and watching them together was a joy to everyone who knew them. He is survived by Holly, his beloved wife; his parents, Kim and Donnie Harper; his siblings: Aaron (Jocelyn), Ami, and Addison (Alaina); one niece and four nephews who adored him; his paternal grandmother, Dalis Harper; his maternal grandfather Larry Smith; his Uncle Gary and Aunt Annie Kay Grady; his Uncle Gary and Aunt Michelle Underhill; five cousins; and countless friends who feel the loss of his presence every day. Aiden would do anything for anyone. His kindness ran deep, even when he was stubborn (which was often). He made you feel like family. He loved fiercely, argued passionately, and lived fully. He loved the Lord. He loved Holly. And he loved life. He will be missed beyond measure. His family takes comfort in the fact that the Lord has made him whole and relieved any suffering. In his memory, may we all be a little kinder, a little more loyal, and a little more ourselves - just like Aiden always was. The visitation will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at La Grange First Baptist Church, 201N. Caswell St. La Grange.
