Allen Foster, a native of Allentown, pa., was born December 26, 1936, to his parents Oscar and Naomi Foster, Allentown, Pa., and died
December 18, 2021, at the Veterans Home in Kinston, N.C.
After graduating form Allentown (Allen) High School, he joined the U.S. Marines and served for 20 years, including 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, where he received the Presidential Unit Citation for his Distinguished service. After retirement from the Marines, he worked for the Naval Air rework Facility at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C. He was and avid outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, water sports, fishing, and hunting with his sons and grandchildren. He also had a life-long passion for music and played a variety of instruments.
He is survived by his two sons, Allen C. Foster, II and his wife Kathy, of Kinston, N.C., and Mark D. Foster of Bethesda, Md.; five grandchildren, Christina Foster Prater and her husband, Nathan, of Charleston, S.C.; Spencer Foster of Lynchburg, Va.; Holden Foster of Kinston, N.C.; Meghan Foster, sophomore, Temple University of Bethesda, Md.; and Ryan Foster of Bethesda, Md,; great granddaughter Madison Bea Prater of Charleston, S.C. and his former spouse Shirley Foster of Lake Gaston, N.C.
Funeral and interment services will be held in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
