Obituary
Alton Earl “Dinky” Jones, Jr., 60, of Kinston, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Earl Jones, Sr. and Annie Thompson Jones, the mother of his children, Brandy White, and special cousin, Joe Jones.
Dinky enjoyed fishing, racing, ciphering, and piddling. He was loved by all he met and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, Jantzen Jones and Jared Puckett, both of Kinston; sisters, Lisa Jones Haynes of Kinston, Debbie Jones Grant of Kinston, and Amanda Jones Brinkley and husband, Bobby, of LaGrange; brothers, David Jones and wife, Vickie, of Kinston and Darrin Jones and wife, Elizabeth, of Grifton; god-daughter, Brandy Jones Burd and husband, Denny, of Pink Hill; special nieces, Heather Jones Rouse and Erinn Jones, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and special friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at UNC Lenoir, especially to Dinky’s many “girlfriends” in the ICU.
