Anna Thigpen

January 26, 1942 – January 21, 2025

Kinston-Anna Mae Miller Thigpen, 82, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on January 21, 2025. She was born in Lenoir County to the late Dora May Hinson on January 26, 1942. In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Herman G. Thigpen, Sr.; grandmother, Hattie Swaney; sisters, Pauline Peak, Gracie Acuna, Claudia Barnes, Dora Worley, and Brenda Hinson; and brothers, Lynwood Summerlin and William Summerlin.

A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at Pinelawn Memorial Park on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Family will greet friends immediately following the service.

Anna is survived by her children,  Herman Thigpen, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Kinston, daughter, Teresa Miller and husband, David, of Oregon, and son, Michael Thigpen and wife, Amelia, of Florida; grandchildren, Tracy Rayner and husband, Jess, of New Bern, Drexel (Pete) Miller and wife, Amanda, of Alaska, Christopher Miller of Oregon, Michael Miller of Oregon, Jonathan Thigpen and wife, Jessica, of Pink Hill, and Brittany Moore and husband, Tyler, of Kinston; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Kinston.
