Barbara Earle (Ives) Robinson

Barbara Earle Ives Robinson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2023, at the age of 81. Her warm and loving spirit touched the lives of many, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Barbara was born on July 31, 1941, in Newport News, Virginia, to Robert Pugh Ives and Margie Langston Pratt. She was later raised by her devoted grandparents, George and Rose Ella Langston of Kinston, North Carolina. Barbara's childhood was filled with love and cherished memories, thanks to the nurturing environment provided by her extended family.
On December 21, 1958, Barbara married her sweetheart, James Durwood (J.D.) Robinson. Their union was one of strength, commitment, and unwavering love. On July 10, 1998, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington D.C. Temple, solidifying their bond as eternal companions.
Barbara found joy in various pursuits throughout her life. She took pride in maintaining a beautiful home and its surroundings, showcasing her impeccable attention to detail. Also, she greatly loved spending quality time with her cherished granddaughter, Brittany.  Barbara and J.D. shared a love for travel and often embarked on adventures in Florida, spending months at a time there. Their shared experiences created cherished memories that will forever be treasured.
Barbara is survived by her husband, J.D. Robinson; her daughter, Lorie Anne Cantu, and husband, Kim; her son, James Durwood (Jay) Robinson, Jr., and wife, Wendy; granddaughter, Brittany Rose Robinson, and her beloved feline friend, Flossie. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Daniel James Robinson. 
The family will be receiving visitors at the Woodington Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10 o'clock in the morning. A funeral service will follow at 11 o'clock.  A private burial will take place afterward. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Howard and Carter Funeral Home of Kinston.
While the hearts of those who loved her will forever be on the mend, Barbara's memory will live on as a beacon of love, compassion, and faith. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her Heavenly Father, and may her family and friends find comfort in the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
