Betsy Daughety Hobbs, 77 years old, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on June 20th, 2025. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was born November 20th, 1947, raised in the family grocery store until she married in 1973. Betsy married the love of her life, Alton M. Hobbs, and they shared 52 years of happiness together.
Betsy was a kind and gentle soul. She loved God, family, and her friends. She was kind to everyone that she met.
A member of Faith F.W.B Church in Goldsboro, Betsy was blessed with amazing musical talent. She had the voice of an angel that she used in church choirs and anywhere she could to honor God with her singing. She was a blessing to many people over the years with her beautiful soprano voice. Over the years, she taught Sunday School and music to many young girls that God placed in her life. She made a lasting impact on many young ladies that knew her.
Betsy was beautiful, inside and out. She made her final journey with grace and courage, going to the God that she loved and served throughout her life. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.B. Daughety Jr. and Margaret Wilson Daughety, brothers A.B. Daughety III and Luther Daughety, and sister Susan Daughety.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alton Hobbs, son Seth Hobbs and wife Latoya Hobbs, step-grandson Cameron Betton, and grandson Cyrus Hobbs, who was the apple of her eye. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Walter Sloan and Pastor Johnny Pike officiating.
Graveside Services will be immediately following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.
