Betty (Gibbs) Johnson

Betty Gibbs Johnson, of Vanceboro passed away on Saturday, August 02, 2025. Born on December 8, 1951, in New Bern, NC.

Betty lived a life full of love, compassion, and strength. Known for the love and devotion to her family, she touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was a cherished spouse, parent, sibling, grandmother, and friend.

Betty is survived by Austin Johnson of the home; one daughter, Tina Gibbs of New Bern; one son, Jamie (Betty) of Merritt, two sisters, Jean Murrell of Reelsboro, Denise H. Saunders of Pamlico; three brothers, Randy Gibbs of Merritt, Stacy Gibbs of Merritt, and Westley D. Hatch of Pamlico; six grandchildren, Steven Nobles of Kansas, Michael (Jade) Nobles of California, Daniel Perry of New Bern, Indya (Marvae) Grady of Kinston, Deanna Gibbs of Greenville, and Jamie Gibbs II of Merritt; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Betty Johnson will be remembered for the strength she displayed during her battle over the years with her sickness and her unwavering love for her family.
