Betty Lou Waller

Betty Lou Waller, 83, of Kinston passed away on November 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Shackelford and Minnie Johnson Shackleford.

Betty attended Atlantic Christian College. After graduation she taught school at Caswell Center, Banks Elementary School, and Lenoir Community College. In addition to being a great teacher, she was an outstanding mother and homemaker, as well as being a loyal volunteer at her church.

Betty is survived by her husband, Billy Wilson Waller; sons, David Waller and wife, Julie of Raleigh and Johnny Waller and wife, Debbie Everly of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Chloe Waller, Caroline Waller, Emma Waller, Billie Waller, George Waller, Meghan Kuder and Brenna Kuder.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Westminster United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park with burial to follow. 

Betty was a loving person and was loved by everyone.
