Obituary
Billy Joe Spence, 59, of Kinston, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Harmony Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Spence and Hilda Ferrington Spence, and sister, Shirley Gardner.
Billy was a great father, brother, and friend. He was the owner/operator of Spence Upholstery for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the beach, and all things Batman. He also loved grilling out while spending time with his friends and family. He will surely be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Mallory Spence, of Wilmington; son, Ryland Spence, of Kinston; sisters, Carol Johns of Kinston and Linda Wallace and husband, Alton, of Kinston; brother, Jimmy Spence, of Kinston; three half-sisters; two half-brothers; the mother of his children, Rhonda Chase Spence; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many close friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Pinelawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service.
