Bobby Earl Dunn

Bobby Earl Dunn, 91, of Kinston, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 18, 2025.  He was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina in 1933 and worked for and retired from Sprint after more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife and life-long companion of 67 years, Jewel Carraway Dunn, Son Randall Dunn (Margie), Grandchildren Brian Dunn (Wanda) and Santana Cornett (Matt), and Great Grandchildren Carter Dunn and Landon Dunn.

He was preceded in death by parents, Walter Ray and Fannie Sumrell Dunn, brothers Billy Dunn and Van Dunn and sisters Betty Rouse, Marie Sowers, Ilene Fields and Vera Hill.

He had a loving spirit and never met a stranger, greeting everyone he met with an infectious smile and a hug.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share anything he had with others.  He was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee & Deacon for many years. 

Funeral services will be at 1pm Friday, November 21st at Howard - Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathon Ipock officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at Howard - Carter.  He will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Memorial Park, receiving military honors immediately following the service.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the North Carolina State Veteran’s Home in Kinston, NC where he received excellent care over the last several years.
