Carole Jean (Brooks) Swaney

Carole Jean Brooks Swaney, 65, of Hookerton passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Brooks and Eva Carole Turnage Brooks.

Carole was a loving wife of 39 years, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed camping and travelling to the beach and especially the mountains. She attended Little Creek Original FWB Church in Scuffleton. She was always willing to help others in need and will be truly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Derwood Swaney, of the home; son, Bryon Keith Cook, of Seven Springs; grandchildren, Alaina Eve Cook, Charlotte Rae Cook, and Spencer Allen Cook; father-in-law, Mellie Swaney and wife, Peggy; uncle, William “Bump” Turnage, who she considered a brother, and wife, Wanda, of Hugo; “sister from another mother”, Nancy Jackson, of Pikeville; cousin, Deborah Stocks; special canines, Benji and Sam, and many other special family and friends.

 A memorial service will be 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 29,2021 at Little Creek Original FWB Church in Scuffleton, N.C.
