Cheryl Brown Smith

Anita Cheryl Brown Smith, 78, of Kinston, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023 at ECU Medical Center, Greenville, NC.  She is predeceased by her husband, Roger Keith Smith; parents, Clyde Allen Brown and Hazel Ruth Brown; infant daughter, Anita Roxanne Smith and sister Denise Dale Brown.

Cheryl worked for more than twenty-six years and retired as Branch Manager of NC State Employees Credit Union in Snow Hill. She attended Sandy Plain OFWB Church.  She was an accomplished seamstress.  She enjoyed working in her yard including sitting on her back porch and watching the birds and squirrels.  She loved being around people and playing scrabble.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Mac Weston; sons, Roger Darryl Smith and wife, Terry Lisa of Goldsboro and Bradley Allen Smith and wife, Tiffany Ann of LaGrange; brothers, Charles Brown and wife, Paula of Beulaville and Kevin Brown and wife, Annabelle of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Dereck Brandon Smith and friend Amber, Amy Smith and husband, Blake, Nikki Kornegay and husband, Brad, Brittany Boykin and husband, Thomas,  Zachary Smith and friend, Ashley, Elaina Smith and friend, Colby and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, October 27, 2023 at Sandy Plain OFWB Church, Pink Hill, NC with Pastor David Smith officiating.  Burial will be Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Kinston, NC.
