Danny Kaye Stallings “Kaydro”, 69 of Seven Springs, NC passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2023 at UNC Lenoir Hospital in Kinston, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynwood A. Stallings Sr., and Mary Stallings Register; brothers Gerald R. Stallings and William W. Stallings; and faithful companions Lucy and Tickle.
Danny was a wonderful daddy, “gee-pa”, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked tirelessly for Glen Raven Mills for many years until they were bought out by National Spinning. His last job was with Neil Medical. He enjoyed racing (both NASCAR and go carts), demolition derby (in his younger years), tractor pulls, fishing, cooking pigs, tinkering on any and everything in sight, mowing his yard, watching his ‘stories’, patrolling the ‘rally field’ at Mason-Dixon Park, and utilizing his gift of gab! He was an avid die-hard fan of UNC Basketball and Green Bay Packers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter and grandbaby. He was loved by many and will truly be missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary-Catherine Danielle Stallings and husband, Michael Waters; granddaughter, Dannica Michelle Waters; brothers Henry C. Stallings “Cecil”, Tony I. Stallings, Lynwood A. Stallings Jr. “Moose” , Kenneth R. Stallings, and Charles H. Register “Chuck” and wife Jessica; significant other, Jospehine Mitchem, of the home; long time friends, Cynthia C. Jones “Cindy”, Brenda T. Twyman, Thomas L. Jenkins “Tom Doodle”, and Sharon Thomas; faithful companions Little Ann, Bozo, and Shug; and many other special nieces, nephews, family, friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow visitation. Danny wanted his family and friends to be comfortable and to come dressed in casual clothes - he never was a fan of “monkey suits.”
In lieu of flowers, Danny requested that donations be made to local Recovery Ministries that helped his son-in-law during his relapse following the miscarriage of his first grandchild. Donations can be made to Live In Victory Everyday (L.I.V.E.) via Jackson Heights OFWB in Kinston, checks payable to Jackson Heights Church; Memo line: L.I.V.E., or to Gateway Landing via Freedom Fellowship PFWB in Kinston.
