David Eugene Daniels, 74, of Kinston, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 14, 2021, hearing “his Lord say to him, well done good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Aycock Daniels and Geneva Briley Daniels; brothers, Haywood Daniels, John Daniels, Franklin Daniels, Horace Daniels, Clifton Daniels, Charles “Bo” Daniels, and Curtis Daniels; and sisters, Helen Daniels, Hazel D. Hoffman, Hilda D. Johnson, Lucy D. Thompson, and Mayme D. Hardee.
David will be remembered as a humble man who was always positive. He was a strong Christian man who loved and encouraged everyone he met. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully for many years. David served his country with the NC National Guard, as well as working at EI DuPont for 40 years. He always loved to socialize over a good meal and enjoyed his monthly breakfast with his fellow DuPont retirees. He enjoyed golfing and anything related to sports, from coaching his son in baseball for many years to supporting his granddaughter from the sidelines of softball, never missing a game.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his wife of 55 years, Dannie Susan Daniels; son, Dan Eugene Daniels and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Morgan Daniels Kisiah and husband, Kyle, and Katelyn Miller Herring and husband, Cody; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh James Kisiah, Mallory Blake Kisiah, and Gibson Ray Herring; brother, Bobby Daniels, and many other special family and friends, including many special nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with funeral following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park with military rites.
