Diane (Pate) Johnson

Diane Pate Johnson, 68, formerly of Lenoir County, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her home in Clayton. 

She was a member of Neuse Baptist Church in Kinston, where she was secretary for many years, and Baptist Center Church in Clayton. She loved gardening, antiquing, and spending time at the beach. Above all, Diane had a deep love for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Nalphus Bernard “Buddy” Johnson, Jr., of the home; son, Jeremy Pate Johnson of Clayton; parents, Walter “Jack” Pate and Virginia “Jink” Croom Pate; brother, Randy Allen Pate of Kinston, along with other close family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Neuse Baptist Church in Kinston. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Greg Kincaid and Ray Carr officiating. A private burial will be held.
