Diane Rouse Upchurch

Diane Rouse Upchurch, 73, of Apex, North Carolina, and more recently New Bern, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, after a brief stay in the hospital.

Born on February 22, 1953, in Albertson, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Rouse and Arwilda Hill Rouse. She graduated from East Duplin High School in 1972 and went on to have a fulfilling career at Burroughs Wellcome.

Above all, Diane devoted her life to being a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was known for her warm heart, her generous spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel special. She took great joy in spending time with her loved ones, crafting, cooking for others, and decorating her home for Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her life partner Mitchell Moore and her daughter Stessa Dawn Upchurch.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be missed by her two children Tommilynn Upchurch and Travis Upchurch, her cherished granddaughter Harlie Quinn, and a large community of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Olive Chapel Baptist Church, located at 600 New Hill Olive Chapel Road, Apex, North Carolina 27502. Visitation with the family is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a light lunch will be served immediately following the service at the church. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their favorite memories of Diane.
