Eddie Rodolph Mills, Jr.

Eddie Rodolph Mills, Jr. “Junior” 76, of Wilmington passed away on February 12, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

Born May 30, 1947 in Jones County, Junior was the son of Eddie Mills Sr and Mabel Mills. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, travelling, Elvis and family.  Junior served in the Air Force and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant before returning to Southeast North Carolina and working for Dupont Textiles.  

He is survived by his sons, Stewart Mills and wife, Cressie of Cerro Gordo and Gregory Mills and wife, Michelle of Palm Bay, Florida.  He also had four grandchildren, Whitney Batten, Josh Mills, Kieli Mills, Taiya Mills; and two great grandchildren.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Eddie Mills Sr. of Trenton; sisters, Edna Earl Riggleman of Pink Hill and Joyce Howard of Kinston; brothers, Tom Mills of Asheboro and Ken Mills of Wallace.

Visitation will be held Friday February 16, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Kinston NC. Funeral service will be held February 16, at 2:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery, Kinston, NC.
