Eleanor Grace Bradshaw Baker, 90, of Kinston passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rivers Baker, parents, Ashley Bradshaw and Ada Sumrell Bradshaw, and siblings, Robert Bradshaw, Herbert Bradshaw, Jimmy Bradshaw, Cecil Bradshaw, Mary Alice Beaman, Martha Haab, and Doris Henderson.
Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed talking on the phone and was often known as the “Cake Lady” around town for her delicious baked goods. She loved attending Westside FWB Church, where she was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Eleanor always liked to stay active and continued to work until she was 85 years old. She touched many hearts and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra King and significant other, Keith Ipock, and Sandra Rouse, all of Kinston; sons, Kenneth Baker and wife, Nancy, of Kinston and Mike Braswell and wife, Joan, of Newport; grandchildren, Ryan Taylor and wife, Amy, Jeffrey Braswell and wife, Josie, Kasey Rouse, and Kelly Butler and husband, Turner; great-grandchildren, Avery Taylor, Briley Taylor, Coleman Taylor, and Jack Braswell, and sister, Hazel Marie Sult.
A visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021 at La Grange First Free-Will Baptist Church with funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Westview Cemetery.
