Elizabeth Wade Obituary

Elizabeth “Rose” Wade, 61, of Grifton, NC passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She was surrounded by much of her family and it was with heavy hearts that her family watched her be received into the arms of Jesus. Rose was a lifelong homemaker who raised two sons, Thomas and Jonathan. She was an active member of Elm Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Ayden and enjoyed volunteering and assisting Dr. Franklin Baggett in many of the church functions. She loved her Elm Grove family and always had a welcoming smile for everyone she met. Rose was preceded in death by her father William “Tom” Gray and brother George Thomas Gray.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years Marvin Wade, sons Jonathan and Thomas and wife Tina all of Grifton, mother Evelyn Gray, sister Toni Manning both of Grifton, brother William “Rossie” Gray of Wilson and his special friend Angie Broome of Snow Hill, and several nieces and nephews. She was also known as “Mimi” to three grandchildren whom she loved spending every spare minute of her time with and brought much joy in her life, Lillie Grace Wade, Levi Thomas Wade and Lincoln Avery Wade of Grifton.

Visitation will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 7:00pm- 9:00pm and other times at 854 Jacksontown Road, Grifton. Funeral services will be held at Howard-Carter Funeral Home Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00pm and graveside will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Dr. Franklin Baggett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elm Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, 5413 Weyerhaeuser Road, Ayden, NC 28513.
