Elizabeth “Faye” Burns Jones, 78, of Trenton, was surrounded by her family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 19, 2026, as her husband “Buddy” waited for her at Heaven’s gates.
Faye always enjoyed helping and caring for others, you never even had to ask. She worked at Roses in Kinston until their closing for 13 years, and following that, she worked at Home Life Health Care for well over 10 years. Shortly after, she took the role of being a great grandmother and babysitting. She was a loving and devoted mother and Mema. She took a lot of pride in her great grandbabies, and nothing made her more proud.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ottis “Buddy” Jones; parents, Roy and Sybil Burns and brothers, Leslie Keith Burns and Thomas Lee Burns.
She leaves behind her daughters, Deborah Roberson and Melissa Jones; grandchildren, Chris Thomas (Allie), Victoria Letchworth (Mack), Sarah Roberson (Josh), Ashley Jarman (DJ), and Hailey Jarman (Chris); great-grandchildren, Owen Letchworth, Maxton Herring, Charleigh Herring, and Braxton Kieke and brother, Robert “Bob” Louis Burns (Martha).
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Freedom Fellowship Church with Pastor Steve Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Trenton City Cemetery.
Per the family’s request, memorials may be made to Howard-Carter Funeral Home at 1608 W. Vernon Ave., Kinston, NC 28504 to assist in funeral expenses.
