Evelyn Frances (Hill) Jones

Evelyn Hill Jones, 85, of Grifton, North Carolina, passed away on January 24, 2026, peacefully into the arms of the Lord.

She was born on October 15, 1940, in Washington, North Carolina to Mary Duff and Henry Hill. Throughout her life, Evelyn was known for her generosity, love, faithfulness, and deep devotion to her family.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Ray Jones; her sister, Barbara Briley (Hugh) and their daughter, Tammy Rouse; her children, Donna Jacobs, Karen Daniels, Shawn Jarvis (Christopher), and Kevin Jones (Tiffany); her grandchildren, Aimee Braxton, Richard Ipock, Kaielynn Long (Landon), Katelyn Hill (Chris), Holly Daniels, Madisynn Grayson (Elijah), Chandler Jones (fiancée Hannah), Garison Jones and Marisa Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Denver Best, Rylan Hill, Colton Jones and Cohen Long. She was preceded in death by her brother, Henry David Hill; her parents, Mary Duff and Henry Hill; her sister, Sheila Phillips; and her dear friend, Earl Norris.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Butch Haddock officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the Dementia Society of America be made in Evelyn’s honor.

Though our hearts ache, our faith assures us this is not goodbye.
