Faith (Harrell) Whitley

Faith Harrell Whitley, 75, of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Harrell; mother, Dorothy Ketchside Sykes, and husband, Garland; sister, Susan “Susie” Thompson, and nephew, Shane Harrell.

Faith was a loving wife of 47 years, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed flowers, birds, traveling, and her gold mustang. She was a friend to all and could be called on at any time. She will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others.  Faith loved her home health care family and had a special love for all her patients.  

She is survived by her husband, Raven Whitley, of the home; sister, Debbie Murphy and husband, Vance of Pink Hill; brother, Joe Harrell and wife, Sheila, of Faith; brother-in-law, Bryan Thompson and many special nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville, North Carolina.  The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her sister Debbie Murphy, 6170 Potters Hill Road, Pink Hill.
