Franklin Jason Thompson, 77, of Kinston, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellena Taylor Thompson and Troy Edward Thompson, and sisters, Dollie Turner and Irma Heath.
Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, and a wonderful friend. He was a hard worker and retired from the City of Kinston after 30 years and from Howard-Carter Funeral Home after over 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Benton Thompson; sons, Chip Thompson (Ann) and Bryan Thompson (Amy); daughters, Krysti Wiggins (Kenneth) and Lauren Fleming (Dillon); grandchildren, Garrett (Amber), Logan, Yaritza, Katherine, Greta, Christa, Emily (Jeffrey), Erin (Trey), Heather (Johnnie), Paxton, Karli, Joshua, Taylor, Anna, Lydia, Rylie, and Ella; great-grandchildren, Arden, Macy, Tanner, Piper, Quinley and Jack; sisters, Edna Bowen, Helen Lambert (Jimmy), Dixie Hall and Ann Gutierrez and many other special family and friends.
The family would like to thank 3HC Hospice, especially Gwen, Lois, Michelle, Sasha, and Williamia, for their comfort and care during Frank’s final days.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with Reverend Calvin Heath officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Entombment will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
