George Nathan Small

George "Pete" Nathan Small, 82, of Kinston passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 at UNC Lenoir Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Criss and Lula Daughety Small, and step-father, Bill Small.

Pete was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church of Kinston. He served his country in the US Army and after his service to his country, he owned an upholstery shop in Grifton, NC. He was drummer for County Line Band for many years.

Pete was married to the love of his life, Joan Mills Small. His children. grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Surviving children, Kristi Suarez (Carlos), Kelly Sowder: grandchildren, Carlee, Baylee, Luke and Samantha: great-grandchildren, Eva Perez Suarez and Evelyn Faith Graham and special fur baby, Daisy Mae.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with Bishop Jeff Howard officiating. Burial will be held Monday, April 29. 2024 at 2:00 pm at North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC.

A special thanks to the entire staff of ICU and CCU units including rehabilitation at UNC Lenoir Hospital. You were wonderful to Pete and our entire family.
