George L. Thompson

George L. Thompson, 81, of Kinston, passed away on Thursday, November 24,  2022 at UNC Lenoir Health Care. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Randolph Thompson and Blanch Davis Thompson; sisters, Estelle Smith, Isabelle Barwick, Gaynelle Harris, Dorothy Tyndall, and Sally Baker; and brothers, Clifton Thompson, Burselle Thompson, and William Thompson.

George was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and truly a Godly Christian man. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Mae Herring Thompson, of the home; sister, Doris T. Futrell of Kinston; brother, Bobby Thompson and wife, Patsy, of Kinston, several nieces and nephews, and many other special family and friends.

 A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Westview Cemetery with Pastor Chris Truett and Pastor Bert Potter officiating.
