Gincy Elmore Creel Stephens, age 77 of Kinston passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Kitty Askins, Goldsboro. She was predeceased by her parents Ruben and Doris Elmore Creel; husband, Bobby Joe Stephens; brother, Thomas Allen Creel and sisters-in-law, Donna Creel and Sandy Creel.
Gincy retired from Self-Help Credit Union of Kinston. In later years she became a resident of Spring Arbor of Kinston where she resided until moving to Kitty Askins. Residents at Spring Arbor referred to her as “Ms. Gincy”.
Gincy is survived by her sons, Robert (Robbie) J. Stephens and wife, Amanda and Tim Stephens of Kinston; grandchildren, Alex Stephens of Florida, Daniel Stephens and Ava Beth Stephens of Kinston; sister, Sue Creel Venters and husband, Ronald of Ayden; brother, Robert Douglas Creel, Sr. of Kinton and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 10:00 am at Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC with Reverend Dennis Peay presiding.
