Grace (Creel) Rouse

Grace Creel Rouse, formerly of Kinston, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, after living 100 years of a life filled with countless blessings and memorable moments.

Grace was full of life and energy and lived each moment to the fullest. She loved watching UNC basketball, playing bridge with her bridge buddies, taking walks, and attending exercise class followed by a regular lunch club with her fellow exercisers. She also loved spending time with family, being outside especially in her yard, and attending Sunday School and church at First Baptist Church. Grace cherished her love of God, and she was a woman of strong faith. Grace continued to be physically active until her final days. She truly was “Amazing Grace” and will be deeply missed.

Grace was born in Kinston to Mark and Mabel Creel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four sisters: Frances Harper, Guelda Pittman, Barbara Owens, and Zuliene White.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patti (unofficial son-in-law Ed) and Debbi, and multiple nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held graveside at Westview Cemetery in Kinston on Tuesday, December 2nd at 2:00 PM.
