Gwendolyn Angie (Gross) Mondragon

Gwendolyn Angie Mondragon, age 70, of Pink Hill, NC, passed away on October 1, 2025. She was born on September 24, 1955, in North Carolina to the late Nelson O. Gross and Lona Jane Gross.

Gwen was a very independent, hardworking, and kindhearted woman who deeply loved her family. She dedicated most of her life to working with her hands and serving her community. From her early years as a seamstress, to her time on the line at Electrolux, to her career at the City of Kinston Meter Shop-where she eventually retired-Gwen’s determination and strong work ethic never wavered. Even after retirement, she continued to serve, working part-time with Duplin County Sanitation at various recycling dump sites.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Mondragon, and her children, Clay Blizzard and wife Sandi, Greg Blizzard, Kelli Jackson and husband Chad, Kevin Mills, and Tomas Mondragon and wife Rebecca. Gwen was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward.

Gwen is also survived by her siblings, Sherry Mercer and husband Charles, Marian Johnson and husband Rick, Timmy Gross and wife Lori, and Candace Houston and husband James, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson, and Lona Jane Gross, her brother Dusty Gross, and her son Ronnie Mills, Jr.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Gwen will be remembered for her resilience, her generosity, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be dearly missed, but her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
