Herman McCuistion Arnette

Herman McCuistion Arnette “Doodle”, 86, of Dover, NC passed away peacefully at home with his family December 15, 2025.  Doodle was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Riggs Arnette;  parents, Jordan Arnette and Martha Bell Arnette and 10 siblings.

Doodle was known for his love for family and friends and his love for camping with Brenda.  He worked in plumbing and construction his entire life.  He was a member of Dover Volunteer Fire Department.  He served his country honorably as a member of the US Army.  He loved Christ and enjoyed serving at Kinston First Pentecostal Church until he was no longer able.

Doodle is survived by his daughter, Paula Morris and husband, Billy and four grandchildren, Joshua Morris, John Morris and wife Judy, Hillary Oelfke and husband, Tim, James Morris and wife, Morgan and six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Luke, Hannah and Rebecca Oelfke and Sullivan and Savannah Morris.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and especially his loving companion, his dog, Daisy.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
